With this piece, I am trying to invoke a shared feeling of heartbreak. To do this I highlight a story too often told during times of conflict, a child who loses their parents and is left orphaned. Utilizing concepts like mise-en-scene, I plan to tell the majority of the story through environmental story telling as opposed to dialogue. In doing so, I allow the player to come to their own conclusions on exactly what is happening which makes the experience more personal. To ensure the full story can be told, I make use of conditional dialogue so as the player interacts with the world more, more environmental story telling elements reveal themselves. This will help increase immersion by giving the player a sense of involvement in the situation which should ultimately further aid in making the narrative more personal.
